We present a theoretical basis for a novel way of studying and representing the long-time behavior of finite-dimensional maps. It is based on a finite representation of -pseudo orbits of a map by the sample paths of a suitable Markov chain based on a finite partition of phase space. The use of stationary states of the chain and the corresponding partition elements in approximating the attractors of maps and differential equations was demonstrated in Refs. 7 and 3 and proved for a class of stable attracting sets in Ref. 8. Here we explore the relationship between the communication classes of the Markov chain and basic sets of the Conley decomposition of a dynamical system. We give sufficient conditions for the existence of a chain transitive set and show that basic sets are isolated from each other by neighborhoods associated with closed communication classes of the chain. A partition element approximation of an isolating block is introduced that is easy to express in terms of sample paths. Finally, we show that when the map supports an SBR measure there is a unique closed communication class and the Markov chain restricted to those states is irreducible. 相似文献

Abstract In aquatic toxicology, QSAR models are generally designed for chemicals presenting the same mode of toxic action. Their proper use provides good simulation results. Problems arise when the mechanism of toxicity of a chemical is not clearly identified. Indeed, in that case, the inappropriate application of a specific QSAR model can lead to a dramatic error in the toxicity estimation. With the advent of powerful computers and easy access to them, and the introduction of soft modeling and artificial intelligence in SAR and QSAR, radically different models, designed from large non-congeneric sets of chemicals have been proposed. A rather common problem of data analysis is to find interesting features, such as local minima, maxima, and trends in a scatterplot. Variance in the data can then be a problem and inferences about features must be made at some selected level of significance. The recently introduced SiZer technique uses a family of nonparametric smooths of the data to uncover features in a whole range of scales. To aid the analysis, a color map is generated that visualizes the inferences made about the significance of the features. The purpose of this article is to present Bayesian versions of SiZer methodology. Both an analytically solvable regression model and a fully Bayesian approach that uses Gibbs sampling are presented. The prior distributions of the smooths are based on a roughness penalty. Simulation based algorithms are proposed for making simultaneous inferences about the features in the data. 相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to design a new extension of the ELECTRE, known as the elimination and choice translating reality method, for multi-criteria group decision-making problems based on intuitionistic fuzzy sets. This method is widely utilized when a set of alternatives should be identified and evaluated with respect to a set of conflicting criteria by reflecting decision makers’ (DMs’) preferences. However, handling the exact data and numerical measure is difficult to be precisely focused because the DMs’ judgments are often vague in real-life decision problems and applications. A more realistic and practical approach can be to use linguistic variables expressed in intuitionistic fuzzy numbers instead of numerical data to model DMs’ judgments and to describe the inputs in the ELECTRE method. The proposed intuitionsitic fuzzy ELECTRE utilizes the truth-membership function and non-truth-membership function to indicate the degrees of satisfiability and non-satisfiability of each alternative with respect to each criterion and the relative importance of each criterion, respectively. Then, a new discordance intuitionistic index is introduced, which is extended from the concept of the fuzzy distance measure. Outranking relations are defined by pairwise comparisons and a decision graph is depicted to determine which alternative is preferable, incomparable or indifferent in the intuitionistic fuzzy environment. Finally, a comprehensive sensitivity analysis is employed to further study regarding the impact of threshold values on the final evaluation, and a comparative analysis is demonstrated with an application example in flexible manufacturing systems between the proposed ELECTRE method and the existing intuitionistic fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (IF-TOPSIS) method. 相似文献
